Celebrando el Momento – Celebrating the Moment
English Version
Hi Gorgeous! How are you? I brought a very special Latin American coffee today… Cafe de Olla is made in a clay pot and boiled with sugar and cinnamon. Yum!
As a True Hot Mama I’m sure you’re constantly thinking of ways to improve your family’s quality of life. I want to tell you how quickly my son is growing and what I’m doing to make sure I live the moment and make memories!
I’ve always aspired to do SUPER special things, with a SUPER plan and GO BIG or GO HOME, Baby! But that is not my reality. I have to be practical, frugal and creative these days!
Sometimes all we have to do to improve our quality of life is to take the time to celebrate the moment!
This school year has just ended for us, and my son Caleb finished a major feat: He finished His Teach Your Child to Read in 100 Lessons book. Hey! This is a huge feat for me too!
He’s my third child, and as all other things in life, I’ve gotten better with practice.
With my first girl, I made so many mistakes when teaching her to read I had to quit for a looooong time until she was interested again. Man! That was such a tough lesson for me! But very valuable.
With my second girl, I started learning to work with my children’s differing personalities. Another hard lesson, but also very valuable.
Now with Caleb, we both reaped the benefits of the previous experiences and had a grand ol’ time! I’m so proud of him! He was so excited and did such a great Snoopy Dance that his little sister wanted to immediately start learning to read that very same day.
So, what did we do? He and I had a little ice cream date to celebrate his victory.
When I take my kids on dates, I always ask them what they want to talk about. He chose to chat about our recent trip to Guatemala and his best memories there. We laughed, talked and had a precious time together, making memories for the rest of our lives.
Now THAT is quality of life!
How about you? How do you celebrate these moments with you family?
