Momento Bíblico Matutino – Morning Bible Time Around the Table

English Version:
Hi Beautiful Lady! I haven’t stopped by for coffee in a while because I had no pictures. Yep. That’s right. I left my chip reader in Guatemala and can’t possibly write to you without a picture or two! I know! Crazy! Well, I figured someth’n out and here we are again. I promised I’d continue the theme from my Handsome Man’s podcast on making disciples. My focus will be making disciples of our children. It’s not enough to tell them Bible stories and take them to God-centered meetings once in a while (or even consistently).
My life was changed when I went to a friends’ house for the weekend about 5 years ago and watched her and her husband conduct Morning Bible Time around their breakfast table with their 5 kids (now they have 7). The children sat in rapt attention as Dad read or recounted a Bible story, complete with sound effects and deep theological points. Then he proceeded to ask questions and the kids were eager to answer! Stuff I didn’t even remember (and I’m a Bible College Grad)!
These kids have the Word literally applied to every area of their life. All the time. Consistently. Lovingly. They are truly growing up in the Nurture and Admonition of the Lord (Ephesians 6:4), and are being Trained Up in the Way they Should Go (Proverbs 22:6). It will be no surprise that when they are old, they will not depart from it. And it all starts in the morning around the table!
It has taken me this long to make it part of our daily routine, but after much falling off the horse, and getting back on again, alas, here we are!
